"My father."

"To see the youth work hard towards a goal and to see their confidence build up each and every practice."

"Having to leave the gym."

What inspired you to become a coach?
"When I was in high school, I put together and coached a team to win a tournament. Ever since then I believed in my skills and have enjoyed coaching kids and watching them excel as athletes."

What is your favorite thing about coaching?
"Giving the kids the tools they need to become the best players they can be. Watching their skills improve each day makes coaching so rewarding."
​
What do you feel is the hardest thing about coaching?
"Truthfully, when parents try to intervene in the process of coaching. Coaches know what they are doing and it's a gradual process. Just trust us."

Joel Delgado
What inspired you to become a coach?
"I've loved basketball since I was a kid and growing up near a basketball park and playing with different types of people made me love the game even more. I just want to share that feeling with another generation."

What is your favorite thing about coaching?
"Seeing the kids' faces and their excitement when they see the end result of all their hard work produce positive results on the court."

What do you feel is the hardest thing about coaching?
"Trying to get all the different personalities on the team to become one bit cohesive unit and have them perform as a team. It's hard but the result when they achieve it makes it worth it."

What inspired you to become a coach?
"I've always wanted to coach. My love for the game, my 3 sons, and meeting people like Julio Delgado who give their all to the community really made me want to give back too."

What is your favorite thing about coaching?
"Watching the joy on my players' faces when they put to use what I teach them."

What do you feel is the hardest thing about coaching?
"Kids and parent who get upset when results aren't immediate. Sometimes you have to keep working hard to get the results you want"

"Seeing them show up and ready to learn and play. These kids really do work hard."

"Learning the kids names."

What inspired you to become a coach?
"The love for the game and how a simple ball changed my life. Coaching is my way of paying it forward."

"When you finally see the smile on the kids faces, when they realize all the hard work paid off."

What do you feel is the hardest thing about coaching?
"Cutting a player. At such young ages, they don't understand that it isn't personal and I never want to let a kid down."
